If diversity is the spice of life, then we are truly blessed!

We are lucky enough to work with some terrific clients who require bespoke designs. This month has been no exception, with the South Pole beckoning.

White Desert supply elite adventure holidays to experience the wilds of Antarctica.

We designed the initial basecamp for them in 2007 and are proud to say that it’s done its job incredibly well, especially considering this seasons freak weather conditions… not just one but two hurricanes!

However, White desert has been such a success, that the camp needs to grow and evolve, so we have been asked to assist them with the next generation of domes. Less Shackleton, more Sci Fi!

So through the joys of Skype and e-mail, the designs were agreed, fabricators were found and the okay was given to go ahead with the build. The domes were created in America, sent by cargo ship to South Africa and then flown onto Antarctica…. Interior design on a global scale!

These spacious contemporary Igloos are thermally insulated with all the comforts of home.

They should sit well within the epic landscape and act as a perfect retreat after a day adventuring!

Tea Time!

To celebrate my Grandmother’s 90^th birthday, we thought we would take her for afternoon tea at The Wolseley, on Piccadilly.

Having been there before, we knew we’d be in for a treat…. A wonderful, atmospheric interior with towering pillars, beautifully cut stone flooring and arches. It’s the perfect place to while away an afternoon with tea and cake or champagne and cucumber sandwiches!

Once a prestigious car showroom for Wolseley Motors Ltd, the interior originally drew on Venetian and Florentine influences, as well as Eastern exotic touches, that were in vogue in 1921. It wasn’t until November 2003 that it re-opened as the café-restaurant it is today.

It’s fantastic to see an interior with such a rich heritage, being re-imagined and brought back to life, to be enjoyed by so many.

Vogue – Oxford Vs Cambridge

It’s the season for celebrations and boy, do we have something to celebrate.

Loci Interiors were selected to represent Cambridge for a feature in this months issue of Vogue!

Using a backdrop of the historical rivalry between our two fair cities, Vogue sought out the best the towns have to offer.

We were delighted to read ” Loci Interiors are an interior design consultancy with exquisite taste.”

It’s great to have this type of endorsement from such a renowned magazine.

The ‘Brand’ New Website

Hello there! Welcome to our news / blog. It’s an exciting time here at Loci, with plenty of irons in the fire!

In fact, we’ve been so busy working on other projects, that it’s taken us a while to really concentrate on our own brand. Now finally, with great help from Jean & Mario at JDJ Creative, as well as Olly & Neil at Fink Creative, we have launched our new website!

We hope you enjoy using it, as much as we’ve all enjoyed making it. It should now be able to evolve with the company, regularly updated with fresh ideas.

It’s reassuring that as we use the latest technology to look to the future, we are also having fun stamping our logo, using a technique from the past.

It is this symbiosis between the best of the old and new, which personifies Loci’s ideals.

Our traditional branding iron was forged especially for Loci in Sheffield. There’s something wonderful about the process of burning your logo onto a piece of timber. It’s not just the smell of carbonising wood, but also the excitement of personally creating another individual print: our symbol of simplicity, honesty and longevity.
